The exclusive ACE™ certification is important because periodontal disease is the most common chronic bacterial infection in adults, affecting 35.7 million Americans,1 and is the leading cause of adult tooth loss.2 In addition, the Surgeon General has issued a warning3 regarding the possible relationship between periodontal disease and a variety of medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

Dr. Wilhelm uses latest technology to provide patients with Teeth in a Day dental implants

Woodbury, Minnesota – June 26, 2007 – Dr. Wilhelm, DMD MSD, today announced that he is providing patients with Teeth in a Day implants, making him the first prosthodontist in Minnesota to offer this service. Teeth in a Day utilizes a new and innovative technology that allows patients to leave their prosthodontist’s or cosmetic dentistry specialist’s office with dental implants, permanent or temporary crowns and bridge replacements that same day, after a short and easy procedure.

“This latest advancement in technology is making tooth replacement more comfortable and less time-consuming than ever before,” said Dr. Wilhelm. “The traditional implant approach often means wearing removable temporary teeth and can take up to six to 18 months to complete. The Teeth in a Day procedure can replace a single tooth or multiple teeth and can be done on the Teeth in a Day are extracted. The best part is, the procedure is less-invasive, safe and has a high degree of accuracy.”

The Teeth in a Day procedure is available due to an evolving technology that uses digital images provided by a special x-ray machine, which is transferred to a computer. Using CAD-CAM software, the patient’s jaw 3-D images are captured and thoroughly examined and analyzed so that the doctor can begin the pre-treatment planning process. Teeth in a Day utilizes the computer-assisted x-ray to create a surgical guide that is used to place the implants in specified locations inside the patient’s mouth. Dr. Wilhelm first to develop treatment and prevention program in Minnesota

WOODBURY, Minnesota – February 15, 2007 – Dr. Wilhelm, DMD MSD, today announced that he has created the first Dental Caries Management Program in Minnesota. The Program is unique in that it provides Dr. Wilhelm with a way to proactively diagnose and prevent dental caries prior to a patient getting their first cavity. Most treatment plans today focus solely on the symptoms of dental caries (cavities), not on prevention or a cure. Dr. Wilhelm’s Caries Management Program targets the biofilm, where cavity-creating bacteria grows, to treat and reverse dental caries, giving patients an easy, affordable and painless solution to a debilitating problem.

“More than any other technology that I’ve owned or techniques I’ve learned, this program has the most potential to change peoples’ lives,” said Dr. Wilhelm. “Until now I’ve only been able to treat dental caries through restoration and extraction.
