All-on-4 Dental Implants Can Improve Your Life

What could four dental implants do for you?

They could give you renewed confidence in your smile.

They could allow you to eat all your favorite foods again.

They could improve your quality of life.

The All-on-4® dental implant procedure is a great option for many patients who are missing one or both arches of teeth. And if you live in or near Woodbury, MN, there’s no better place to go for this procedure than the office of Dr. Mark W. Wilhelm. We’ll explain why down below.

Or you can call (651) 319-9064 or contact us online to set up a consultation with Dr. Wilhelm. This will give you a chance to learn about us and about the All-on-4 process in person.

All-on-4 Makes Getting Dental Implants Better

When dental implants were developed, they changed dentures for the better. With implants, your dentures don’t just look like replacements for your teeth. Instead, your implant-supported dentures can function practically as well as healthy, natural teeth.

In a sense, All-on-4 is raising the bar for what dental implants can do for you.

At one time getting dental implants took time. There was no way around it. After implants were placed, patients had to heal completely before their dentures could be attached. This recovery time could take several weeks or even months in some cases.

With All-on-4, you can get your dental implants and a set of dentures on the same day at Dr. Wilhelm’s office.

That means you won’t have to walk around for weeks or months without teeth.

To look at it another way, you will be able to leave our office with a new smile on your face, and you will be able to go home that night and eat with your new teeth.

Now, you will still need time to heal completely from your implant-placement procedure. But by choosing All-on-4, you will be able to start enjoying the benefits of having implant-supported dentures much sooner than you would otherwise.

When you have healed, we will replace your temporary dentures with permanent ones. By that time, you will have a great understanding of how much you can do with your implant-supported dentures.

Your Life Can Be Different With All-on-4

In his professional career, Dr. Wilhelm has placed thousands of dental implants for patients who are missing one or both rows of teeth.

He understands the issues that come both from living without teeth and from living with traditional dentures.

When you don’t have teeth, you may feel self-conscious about smiling, speaking, eating, or doing anything that could reveal that your teeth are gone. From a functional standpoint, it’s inevitable that your diet will be far more restricted when you don’t have teeth compared to someone who does.

Traditional dentures are better than having no teeth at all. Your smile might look more natural, but it’s still not the same as having functional replacements for your lost teeth.

Dentures have a tendency to slip out of place, and the longer you have them, the more likely they are to feel loose in your mouth. That can lead to some embarrassing situations when you are talking to someone or when you are trying to eat certain foods (such as apples).

You may receive some temporary benefit from a denture adhesive. Even then, you won’t be able to generate as much force with dentures as you could with your natural teeth.

On the other hand, if you had All-on-4 implants, your dentures would be connected directly to your jawbone. This makes your dentures much more secure and stable.

It also allows you to generate nearly as much bite force as someone with all their natural teeth. That is why you can eat practically anything that you would like with your implant-supported dentures.
