Mark W. Wilhelm DMD, MSD
Following graduation with a BS in biology from the University of Illinois, Dr. Wilhelm attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where he received his DMD degree. He then took a year off school to work as a dental lab technician and general dentist in the Chicago area. He was married in 1986 and moved to Indianapolis to attend Indiana University School of Dentistry. In 1989, he completed a 3-year hospital-based residency and acquired an MSD degree along with certificates in Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Fixed Prosthodontics and Removable Prosthodontics.
Upon completing his residency, Dr. Wilhelm and his wife moved to Minneapolis. He then began teaching in the prosthodontics department at the University of Minnesota. He opened his private practice in St. Paul in 1990 and moved to Woodbury in 2003.
Dr. Wilhelm attends several conferences and continuing education courses every year staying abreast of the latest advancements in healthcare focusing on the digital revolution in dental implant surgery and prosthetics.
Dr. Wilhelm has three adult children who have graduated college and are living and pursuing careers on their own. When he’s not helping patients Dr. Wilhelm enjoys traveling, fishing and mountain biking. He also studies nutrition and personal health from an integrative medicine approach. Dentistry today involves more than just the mouth. Dr. Wilhelm looks at an individual from a total wellness position and incorporates those conditions that affect total wellness, including diet, sleep and the inter-relationship of these habits relating to your total health.
