You Can Have A New Smile In One Day

You like the look of dentures, but you aren’t sure that you want to put up with the problems that are part of having traditional dentures. You’ve considered dental implants, but you don’t know if you want to wait for months for your mouth to heal before your dentures are attached.

What if you could get both the security of dental implants and the cosmetic benefits of dentures in one day?

What if you asked about the Same-Day Smile procedure at our dentist office in Woodbury, MN?

This process allows you to enjoy the immediacy of traditional dentures along with the stability of implant-supported dentures.

Dr. Mark W. Wilhelm has used this procedure to help many patients get everything they want from their replacement teeth in less time.

To get started, schedule a consultation with us. Call (651) 319-9064 or fill out our online form.

Your Initial Visit

The Same-Day Smile procedure is a two-step process.

This starts with a consultation with prosthodontist Dr. Wilhelm. A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in tooth replacement. In addition to his dental school education at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Wilhelm has additional education in prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics from Indiana University. He also completed training at the Misch Implant Institute and the Kois Center.

During your initial visit with us, we will take X-rays. This allows Dr. Wilhelm to assess the condition of your jaw and any teeth you still have. Using this information, you will discuss the best options for restoring the appearance of a complete smile and the function of your missing teeth.

If you determine that Same-Day Smile is right for you, then we will schedule your appointment for the procedure.

Getting Your Implants & Dentures

On the day of your appointment, we will do everything we can to help you feel comfortable and relaxed. We are happy to provide pillows and blanket to help you feel cozy. We also will do everything we can to make the procedure as painless as possible.

In addition to local anesthetic, we offer four levels of sedation dentistry, including IV sedation and general anesthesia. If you receive our stronger sedation options, you will need a family member or friend available to take you home. The effects can last for several hours.

Once we are assured that you are relaxed and pain-free, Dr. Wilhelm will get to work on creating your new smile. If necessary, he’ll start by removing any teeth that may need to be extracted.

Then, he will place your dental implants so that you will receive the maximum benefit from each one. This is where Dr. Wilhelm’s training as a prosthodontist becomes particularly important.

After all your implants are in place, he will attach dentures.

When you see your new smile, you may be surprised at how natural it looks and feels.

Feel Confident About Your New ‘Teeth’

Restorative dentistry has come a long way since people were using stones and seashells to replace lost teeth.

New materials have made dentures look more like real teeth than ever. The development and continued improvements in implant dentistry allow those dentures to function practically as well as real teeth, too.

With implant-supported dentures, you can eat any food that you want to eat without any concern that your dentures will slip out of place or get pulled out of your mouth.

And with Same-Day Smile … well, you can start enjoying the benefits of a secure set of dentures much sooner.

With traditional implant placements, you may have to walk around without dentures for months as you mouth heals. Same-Day Smile is a step forward in teeth replacement. This way, you have your dentures as your mouth heals.

We’ve seen how this has given many patients more confidence in their smile from the day of the procedure going forward.
